I am told by one that studies birds that kinfgishers are often found in marina's, but are usually yearlings that have been kicked out from the nest, older birds tend to move inland.
Re the mink:
there might be an upside to this story; mink will attack and kill anything, not always for food, just for sport. Perhaps they might help reduce the low level bomber squadron, AKA bloody gulls!!
They are very, VERY nasty have even been seen in the air, hanging onto herons they have attacked as the birds try to escape. So DON'T be tempted to own a mink glove!!!!!
We have seen evidence of mink activity out on 33 (east jetty); seagull feathers and parts (and we don't mean engine bits)
